Coastal Landscape

A picture tells a thousand words and in this case describes thousands of polygons. Optimisation is obviously a desirable characteristic, if that is the correct adjective, of work that is designed for 3D interactive games, experience apps, and so forth.

So in this case perhaps this is best described as 2D artist concept work for the landscape nearby the ocean for a surfing game app I dream of producing.

Also keen on including some of this work with custom designed low-polygon general "areas", generalised shapes designed to hold 2D artist work. Not so much as 2D plane "billboard" style work to co-exist in a 3D game context, I would like there to be slightly more "substance" or "volume" to the work, so it may be usable at a mid-range distance. Whereas the billboard style of optimisation is more for long-range use in a 3D app.
It's an interesting process of using artist pens to create the content, to illustrate the forms, and then ... refine and sculpt this work in Photoshop. I try not to enlarge the work beyond the scan size, although in context, the game design requirements may only require an image size of perhaps 512 or 1024 pixels in width.

Presented here without any ocean illustration to give a sense of environment, placement, results in a potential visual disconnect. The main idea here is to show how there is a collection of modular landscape forms being put together in a fun and visually logical manner.
